2014 SV Code Camp Open For Business! (Action Items For Attendees)

We are most excited to announce that Silicon Valley Code Camp version 9 will take place the weekend of October 11th and 12th 2014 as always at Foothill College.  Last year we had to stop registration at 4,500 people to insure we had enough space for everyone.

Action Items
We currently have our first 58 sessions posted.  We are proud to have among those sessions Douglas Crockford, joining us for his 9th year in a row, talking about The Better Parts of JavaScript.  Gayle Laakmann McDowell will be sharing her experience on careers; check out these and the other sessions already planned.

Our weekend on Foothill campus gives us a small window into all the community education that happens at Foothill year in and year out.  It is hard to come to Foothill College and not be inspired by what Foothill provides our community.  This year we want to give back to Foothill College, as well as science, technology, engineering and math  (STEM) education.  In that light, we have established a dedicated non-profit company whose mission is to do just that.  We have called it  Silicon Valley Code Camp Giving, and on our registration page you will find an opportunity to donate as well as more details on our mission.

We are looking forward to another awesome year!  As always we want to extend a huge thank you to all our speakers, volunteers, sponsors and especially our attendees for making this event so successful.

PS:  We still have over 100 session slots to fill.  If you know great speakers you want to see, let them know to come to our site and submit their sessions.

PPS: We already have many of our core sponsors committed (Microsoft, Google, Magenic, PayPal, ComponentOne, JetBrains and redgate).  If you know of other companies who are interested in participating, please send them our way.  Keeping code camp free is a challenge and the more support we get the better.
