Posted by Peter Kellner on September 25, 2011 @ 8:30 PM

Falafel Software has once again delivered awesome integration with our Silicon Valley Code Camp Data and the Mobile World.  This year, in addition to all the capabilities we all enjoyed last year, you can now update your personal agenda in these mobile devices by simply entering your EventBoard registration email on the Code Camp Registration Page.  In other words, all you have to do is create an account on the mobile applications from Falafel (called EventBoard), then enter that account name on the Registration page of Code Camp.

To get EventBoard, scan the QR Code, visit http://www.eventboardmobile.com on your desktop or mobile device and follow the download link, or simply  visit the  Apple App Store, Android Market, or Windows Phone Marketplace and search for "EventBoard" by name.  Below is the QR Code if you want to try and scan it now.

In addition. Falafel has put together a short video that gives you an introduction.

Don’t forget, it’s really important to select what sessions you plan on attending.  That information helps us put sessions that have the most interest in the largest rooms.  We can’t guarantee everyone will be able to attend every sessions, but doing this, gives us a fighting chance!  You can use any of these mobile apps to select interest.  As always, you can select interest on the web site also.  The pages that allow this (assuming you are logged) are:

http://www.siliconvalley-codecamp.com/SessionsOverview.aspx (standard html page)

http://www.siliconvalley-codecamp.com/SessionPlanToAttendChart.aspx (fancy Sencha ExtJS 4.0 JavaScript Version)

http://www.siliconvalley-codecamp.com/SessionPlanToAttendChartVP.aspx (same as above but customized for the IPad)

Looking forward to seeing you at code camp very soon!

At Silicon Valley Code Camp, David Spark chatted with Keith Sutton of Adobe about utilizing Adobe Flex for building applications for the enterprise. Flex can be built on top of Flash, Adobe Air, or on a Web platform.

Sutton talked about the enterprise looking toward mobile and Steve Jobs playing his positioning game in mobile with his critical comments about Flash.

Tips for developing across Windows Phone 7, Android, and iPhone

At Silicon Valley Code Camp, Lino Tadros, CEO of Falafel Software, gave a presentation on developing across the three most popular mobile platforms: Windows Phone 7, Android, and iPhone. His number one tip for developers is not to try to write once and have it run across all three platforms. It’s just not going to work.

Android Phone Agenda/Session/Speaker Viewer Available for Silicon Valley Code Camp From Falafel!!

Posted by Peter Kellner on October 6, 2010 @ 10:32 PM

Some Background

In my last post, I announced that Falafel had built an IPhone viewer for much of the Silicon Valley Code Camp data.  Of course, I was hugely excited and even quoted Lino Tadros, CEO of Falafel Software, calling me two months ago asking if I would like to have a fully functional IPhone and Windows 7 Phone application working for this years code camp.  Well, I didn’t actually tell the full truth.  Lino actually said “How would you like to have an IPhone, Android and Windows 7 Phone application for code camp”.

One of Falafel’s excellent developers, Lance Bullock has done a lot of the work on these phone applications and I know how hard he’s worked to get them done. He’s also preparing two sessions for code camp on this development effort.  Bottom line, it’s simply astounding that in the short amount of time they had, they’ve delivered all three applications!  In addition to Lance, John Waters, President of Falafel has been heavily involved in the backend efforts for these apps and he is also giving two sessions.  Expect to see a lot of content from these guys on these amazing phone applications.  My hat is off to them.

Google, Sprint and Falafel are all Platinum Silicon Valley Code Camp Sponsors

Another reason I’m so excited to have an Android phone app (besides I use a a Sprint Epic 4G Android phone myself) is that this brings three of our Platinum sponsors together.  Google, who makes the Android operating system, Sprint who has the network and phones and of course Falafel who built the application

How To Get The Application

Simply go to the Market place on the android and search for Falafel Software.  You’ll find the app, download it and be ready to be impressed!

And, of course, some pictures of my Samsung Epic 4G from Sprint.
